Nautical Sailboat Exterior Window Shutters – Custom Weatherproof PVC Shutters for Beach Houses & Coastal Homes (Sold Individually)

Shutters are ordered individually. The price is per (1) shutter, NOT per window. Please change quantity in your cart to amount of shutters needed (ex: to order a pair of shutters for 1 window, change qty in cart to 2, etc). We will reverse the center design element so they face each other for each 2 shutters ordered, as pictured. 

PRODUCT INFO:

SIZE: We custom make our shutters to your exact specs, ranging from 24" to 70" tall, with width options of 11.5" or 15". All Shutters are made using 1/2" thick solid PVC board (board and batten placements will be 1" thick). Please measure your exterior windows carefully and select the width and height of your choice from the drop down menu. We recommend measuring from the top to the bottom of the window trim in order to determine the height needed for shutters. If you need a custom size that is not listed, please email us before placing your order, and we can create a custom size for you.

MATERIAL: Our products are made using premium grade all-weather PVC board. The PVC board we source for our products is unique in that it is not foam-filled (like most others use), but is a solid compressed PVC board, resulting in a sturdier, more resilient finished product. PVC is 100% weatherproof and intended for outdoor use, in both tropical and cold climates (even in the harshest conditions, like Florida sunshine, rain showers & salt air!). Our products can be hung in direct sun & weather exposure, and will not yellow, mildew, crack or rust, and is impenetrable to moisture and insects. 

COLOR: The color of PVC is white. PVC is UV resistant, so your shutters will not yellow over time. If you would like to paint your shutters, we recommend using an exterior acrylic based paint. PVC is a very easy material to paint yourself, and takes paint very well. There is no need to prime or seal the paint, since the material is already weatherproof. Please note that we do not recommend painting PVC dark colors if installed in areas that get direct sunlight. Dark pigments in the paint absorb significantly more heat from the sun than lighter colors, transferring this intense heat to the PVC material underneath. While PVC naturally expands and contracts with temperature changes, the excessive, uneven heat from dark paint can cause it to expand too much to return to its original dimensions when it cools, leading to warping. If a product warps due to it being painted a dark color after it was received, we are not responsible for replacing or refunding. 

HANGING: Hanging hardware is not included. The shutters will arrive with 4 small pilot holes pre-drilled into each shutter (2 on each batten board), to use as placement holes for your screws. You will need to drill screws all of the way through the shutters. We recommend using at minimum 2.5" stainless steel screws to secure the shutters onto your home. For wood structures, you can screw directly into the structure. For concrete & brick, we recommend using plastic anchors as well. To conceal the screws, we recommend adding white screw caps over the screw head. Please not that these are decorative, non-functional shutters, and are not intended to close over the window or offer wind protection.
