Additionally, we take the time to sand every sign by hand after it is cut, for a smooth finished product. PVC is UV resistant, so your address sign will not yellow over time. It will arrive ready to hang as-is, and does not require painting or sealing, since it is a weatherproof material. If you would like to paint your sign, we recommend using an exterior acrylic based paint. PVC is a very easy material to paint yourself, and takes paint well. There is no need to prime or seal the paint. \u003cspan\u003ePlease note that we do not recommend painting PVC dark colors if installed in areas that get direct sunlight. Dark pigments in the paint absorb significantly more heat from the sun than lighter colors, transferring this intense heat to the PVC material underneath. While PVC naturally expands and contracts with temperature changes, the excessive, uneven heat from dark paint can cause it to expand too much to return to its original dimensions when it cools, leading to warping.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePILOT HOLES\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e: Please select from the drop down menu if you would like for us to add small pre-drilled pilot holes all of the way through the sign. We generally add 4 holes, but will add more or less dependent on the shape\/size of the sign. The front side of the sign is the side with the larger pilot holes, as the holes are intended as a placement guide for you to easily insert screws. Drill the screws all the way through the front of the sign and into the structure to properly secure. Selecting \"No holes\" is best if you would like to drill your own holes in the placement of your choice, or if you are using siding clips or an alternative way of hanging. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHANGING\u003c\/strong\u003e: Hanging hardware is \u003cspan\u003enot\u003c\/span\u003e included. We recommend using # 6 or # 8 stainless steel screws to fully secure the sign onto the exterior structure. For wood structures, you can screw directly into the structure. For concrete \u0026amp; brick, we recommend using plastic anchors as well. \u003cspan\u003eFor siding, we recommend siding clips and screws.\u003c\/span\u003e To conceal the screws, we recommend adding white screw caps over the screw heads. \u003cspan\u003eWe ONLY recommend securing exterior signage with screws, as mounting tape and other methods will not secure against wind and other weather elements. Make sure to secure all sides (top\/bottom\/left\/right) of the sign to the structure, so the sign does not bow over time from the sun. Do not push hard when inserting a screw, or you risk indenting the sign.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDO NOT hang a PVC sign between a front door and glass storm door.
